David Distler David Distler is one of the most respected horse show managers in the United States having organized national and international equestrian competitions since 1985. He has served as an official at show jumping events throughout the world, including Olympic and Pan American Games and World Cup Finals. He has been an FEI jumper judge since 1989, attaining an "O" rating in 2004. In 2005 he was named the Honorary Steward General for Show Jumping by the FEI, and that same year was named Chairman of the USEF Jumper Committee. Show Official Mr. Distler has been judging throughout the world since 1975. He has served as President of the Ground Jury at four World Cup Finals. He was a member of the Ground Jury at the 2008 Beijing Olympics (held in Hong Kong) and the 2007 Pan-American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Additional highlights of his career include the Royal International Horse Show, London, England; Royal Dublin Horse Show, Ireland; Spruce Meadows, Calgary, Canada; World Cup Finals, Las Vegas, Nevada; as well as major shows in Wellington, Florida, Quito, Ecuador and Milan, Italy. Show Management Mr. Distler's many management credits include the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, where he served as assistant director of competition and co-manager for show jumping, the National Horse Show at Madison Square Garden, New York (1989-1996), the Devon Horse Show (since 1985), the Washington International Horse Show, Washington, DC (since 2008) and the North American Junior and Young Rider Championships. Since 1988, Mr. Distler has held the position of either manager or coordinator of the U.S. Selection Trials for the Olympics, World Equestrian Games and Pan American Games. He was coordinator at the World Cup Finals in Tampa, Florida (1989) and the Atlanta Olympic Games (1996). In 1986 he became the technical coordinator for the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida, and the Lake Placid Horse Show in New York.
